If you are reading this, then you have decided to make the commitment to your partner and ask him or her to marry you – may I offer my wholehearted “Congratulations!"
I had three main purposes in mind for this guidelines. To ensure that you:
a) Get the best possible diamond engagement ring that you can for your budget
b) Avoid being ripped off by any unscrupulous diamond merchants or jewellers.
c) Save precious time.
This is the culmination of 10 months of my own research that resulted in Lou’s perfect engagement ring. In March 2004 I decided that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, I proposed to her in November 2004 whilst on holiday in Egypt and we shopped for the ring together, receiving it just in time for Christmas 2004!
In writing this I consulted friends, books, the internet and diamond jewellers and merchants themselves to get the inside scoop on the steps to take to make sure that the ring you slip on her finger, the ring that she will wear for the rest of your lives, is just right. After all, she has probably been dreaming about this ring since she was a little girl!
Buying a diamond engagement ring maybe one of the largest single purchases you ever make and your wife will wear it for the rest of her life, so it is a shopping experience not to be taken lightly. You could rush out to your nearest High Street and purchase the first diamond ring that the assistant presents to you but in my opinion you will be making a BIG mistake by doing so. I am quite confident that by following the steps in here, you can (depending on how you look at it):
a) Get twice as much bang for your buck or
b) Save yourself half the cost
I want this guideline to be as objective and independent as possible so you can be sure that you are getting the very best information which will enable you to find the very best diamond deal.
